My early career was in the
corporate world of Information Technology where I performed roles in training,
recruitment, sales and business management. I worked for a diverse range of
companies from small services businesses to large manufacturers such as Hewlett
Packard. My final position as Sales Director for a company specialising in
the performance improvement of people really stimulated my interest into why
peoples' behaviour often conflicted with the goals they wanted to achieve.
I had for some time wondered how hypnosis worked and whether it was
really possible to hypnotise someone to make them do something they didn't want
to do. I chose to leave corporate life and pursue this fascinating
subject. After becoming a fully qualified hypnotherapist I was amazed and
excited at the scope of possibilities to help people change their lives for the
better.
I quickly learned you can't make someone behave against
their will; however you can enable them to perform better at what they want to
do. In my mind that's a far more positive outcome! So now my
personal objective is to help others overcome their own obstacles
preventing achievement of goals. Please check out the list of treatments for an
indication of areas I can help you with.

Choosing a Therapist
With most
therapies, the relationship between client and therapist is very important. When
selecting your therapist there is a simple checklist to consider:
Location – Depending on the treatment plan
required, it's possible you may need to attend more than one therapy session, so
make sure you do not commit yourself to an arduous journey
Qualifications – Has the therapist completed a
recognised training programme and in possession of an appropriate qualification
supported by a governing body? I trained with The Royal Berkshire College of
Clinical Hypnosis http://www.rbcch.co.uk/
which is affiliated to the Association for Professional Hypnosis and
Psychotherapy http://www.aphp.co.uk/
Rapport – The most effective
treatment plans occur when there is a good rapport between client and therapist.
This is not always easy to assess before a face to face meeting, therefore take
advantage of the free initial consultation and determine whether you feel good
working with them to help with your condition. I promise not to be offended if
you decide I'm not for you.
Costs – All therapists are in private practice
and need to earn a living. Don't be afraid to discuss the likely cost of your
treatment and ensure you are comfortable with it. Try not to let cost be your
overriding decision-making criteria. Remember that a cheaper therapist whom you
fail to achieve good rapport with may be a false economy
